Level I Wine Certification Seminar

The first level International Wine Guild certification seminar presents old-world and new-world wine, fortified wines, tasting exercises, descriptive and comparative evaluation techniques, as well as wine and food pairing. Successfully complete the written exam to become a member of the International Wine Guild, recently named one of the top five professional wine schools in the country by Food & Wine Magazine. This is an introductory course of study designed for individuals who desire to learn about wine. It is open to all who wish to develop a basic knowledge of wine, wine evaluation and wine description and does not require that individuals be employed in the wine or food service industries. Registration for the seminar is $475/person and includes 150 pages of hand-out materials especially developed for this seminar, breakfast and lunch on Saturday, breakfast and a two-course lunch on Sunday. Participants will taste more than 28 wines. In the certification seminar, you will: * Taste at least 28 wines from three continents. * Receive 125 pages of handout material prepared specifically for the certification seminar. * Learn about old world wines, new world wines and fortified wines. * Learn about wine and food pairing. * All classes are taught or led by a Master of Wine Arts or a Master Wine Educator. * Have a great experience! * Receive a diploma, membership card and membership pin.
